Borussia Dortmund played quite a lot of away games recently. In six of their last seven games across competitions, they were visitors, so now, finally, they get to play in front of the Yellow Wall.
Games against VfB Stuttgart almost always produced fireworks, meaning a lot of goals. Last season, their two duels produced nine goals, with Borussia Dortmund getting hammered 5-1 in Stuttgart and also losing 1-2 at home. So is it now payback time? I think so, but we will see.

VfB Stuttgart were winners in six of their last seven Bundesliga matches, so they are in excellent shape. They won seven of their ten league games so far and are level on 21 points with Borussia Dortmund, but have a slightly worse goal difference.
I am pleasantly surprised by VfB Stuttgart this season, as I thought they gonna be weaker than last season. Even the departures of key players before the season did not shake them up, so kudos to them for the job they are doing so far.
However, an important fact to consider is that all three of their losses this season came away from home, so they are not as powerful away as they are at home.
The Betting Verdict
So how about this for a fact – VfB Stuttgart have won all the last five direct duels against Borussia Dortmund. That’s an admirable achievement, showing Borussia Dortmund never has it easy and has often been an underdog against the Swabians in recent years.
However, all series are bound to be broken at some point, and now I feel it is time for Borussia Dortmund to turn things around. They are more stable this season, more compact in the back, and still unbeaten at home (three wins and a draw).
I expect goals in both nets in this match, but recommend backing Borussia Dortmund to win.
