Borussia Dortmund are actually doing better than last season, having seven points more than they had at this same stage last December. However, they are big 9 points behind Bayern Munich at the top, and will definitely not win the title this season.
Sometimes stats don’t mean anything, regardless of how impressive they look. For example, Borussia Dortmund had seven straight convincing wins against SC Freiburg before their last week’s duel, and so what? They still didn’t beat them. Positive team news for Borussia Mönchengladbach is that several players are returning to the team. One of those is midfielder Florian Neuhaus, who was absent for two weeks with a muscular injury.
