West Brom slipped to a third defeat in four games last weekend in the Championship as The Baggies were downed 1-0 away from home at Hull City and to make matters worse, the west midlands club also had defender Alfie Gilchrist sent off as well.
West Brom had previously registered a solid 2-0 home win against Sheffield United at The Hawthorns but recent losses to the likes of QPR and Southampton have ensured Ryan Mason’s side will remain in the bottom half of the Championship table over Christmas.
On a positive note though, West Brom are unbeaten in each of their last seven home games in the domestic second tier whilst collecting three wins within their last four matches on home soil, so Ryan Mason’s side will still feel confident about their chances on Boxing Day.
Bristol City’s inconsistent streak in the Championship continued last weekend when The Robins recorded an impressive 2-0 home win against promotion candidates Middlesbrough at Ashton Gate, but the fact remains that recent results have been a mixed bag for Gerhard Struber’s side.
Indeed, the west country outfit have managed to pick up just three wins in their last 10 league matches, two of which were achieved on home soil at Ashton Gate, but they have also suffered five defeats in the process as well.
The visitors’ inconsistent nature has also affected results away from home as their away record stands at 4-3-3 12/11 which includes winning just once in their last five outings on the road.
