A Sports Betting Pick by ArmchairPunter
Football : England: League Two
Venue: Broadfield Stadium
Friday 26th December 2025, 1500hrs (GMT)
Crawley Town will be desperate to turn around their ailing fortunes in League Two when they play host to Colchester United at Broadfield Stadium on Boxing Day as the hosts have now failed to win any of their last seven games in all competitions.
Three draws and three losses have made up their last six results in the English fourth tier but delving a little deeper you’ll find that each of Crawley Town’s three recent defeats were dealt out to Scott Lindsey’s side away from home with losses incurred at Salford City, Bromley and Swindon Town respectively.
On a more positive note, Crawley have picked up points on home soil at Broadfield Stadium thanks to stalemates with Accrington Stanley and Oldham Athletic while an overall home record this season of 3-4-3 15/12 at least gives the hosts a decent chance of getting something out of this fixture.
Colchester United bounced back from two recent defeats on the trot with a resounding 4-1 thumping of Newport County in League Two last weekend and Danny Cowley’s side will now travel to Broadfield Stadium in a much more positive frame of mind as a result.
Defeats to West Ham U21 in the EFL Trophy and a 4-3 loss away from home at Salford City in League Two have slowed down Colchester United’s progress but prior to those losses, The U’s had put together a promising four-match unbeaten run in the league.
Three of these four unbeaten games saw Colchester United pick up important wins against Walsall, Notts County and Cheltenham Town respectively while an overall away record of 4-3-3 16/13 also gives the visitors a chance of a result of some sort on Boxing Day.
The Betting Verdict
Crawley Town have lost just once in their last nine meetings against Colchester United.
