Portsmouth may have dropped into the bottom three of the Championship table but the south coast club nevertheless extended their unbeaten run in the English second tier to three matches with a 1-1 draw at home with QPR on Boxing Day.
Portsmouth previously registered a 2-1 home win against Blackburn Rovers and followed that welcome win up with points gained in draws with Derby County and QPR respectively, which will give John Mousinho’s side a confidence boost ahead of Monday night’s clash with Charlton Athletic.

Charlton’s only recent highlight came in the form of a 1-0 home win against Championship strugglers Oxford United but otherwise Nathan Jones’ side have experienced a somewhat turbulent time of things in the second tier.
The London club also possess a rather poor looking away record which stands at 2-4-6 9/16 and their prospects of picking up all three points down on the south coast at Fratton Park look decidedly unlikely.
