Blackburn Rovers continue to tread water in the Championship table as the Lancashire hosts had to make do with just a point away from home at Sheffield Wednesday on Monday night with a dour 0-0 stalemate, and Valérien Ismaël’s side have become the ‘draw specialists’ in recent weeks.
Indeed, Blackburn have been involved in no fewer than five draws within their last seven games while also picking up a win and a loss; the win coming in the form of a 2-0 home win against Millwall along with being dealt a 2-1 defeat away from home at Portsmouth.
With victories in the Championship being a rare commodity for Rovers though, the straight win market should be avoided but the hosts have scored in nine of their 11 home games to date at Ewood Park.
Wrexham made it back-to-back wins in the Championship for the first time this season on Monday night when Phil Parkinson’s side registered an impressive 2-1 home win against high-flying Preston NE which followed a high-scoring 5-3 victory over Sheffield United.
The Welsh club had previously slumped to a five-game winless run in the domestic second tier though as The Dragons were involved in three draws (all score-draws) along with being handed losses away from home at Hull City and Swansea City respectively.
Wrexham’s away record so far in this season’s Championship campaign stands at an indifferent looking 2-5-4 10/12 so the prospects of an away win here do seem slim - however, the visitors have scored in seven of their 11 outings on the road this term.
