Livingston’s disastrous sequence of results in the Scottish Premiership continued over the weekend as the hosts were dealt a 1-0 loss away from home at the league leaders, Hearts, but this upcoming visit of St Mirren may just give David Martindale’s side a glimmer of hope in producing a result of some sort.
Livingston have slumped to seven defeats within their last eight matches in the domestic top flight which has condemned Tuesday night’s hosts to the bottom of the Premiership table and four points adrift of second from bottom club Kilmarnock.
Having managed to grind out just the solitary win from their opening 20 league matches, the prospects of a home win here for Livingston look fairly unlikely but having drawn six and losing 13, Livi might just be able to hold out for a draw here.
St Mirren have also experienced a disappointing sequence of results in recent times in the Scottish top flight but albeit on a smaller scale than their upcoming hosts as the visitors have failed to win any of their last three games overall.
A 0-0 stalemate at home with Kilmarnock was followed by back-to-back defeats at the hands of Rangers and Motherwell respectively, but prior to this mini-slump, Steve Robinson’s side had put together a promising five-match unbeaten run in all competitions.
However, results away from home remain a concern for The Saints as they possess a poor looking record on the road of 1-2-6 9/18 and therefore by no means guaranteed a result at the Tony Macaroni Arena on Tuesday night.
The Betting Verdict
Both Livingston and St Mirren are in poor form right now and this could be a low-scoring draw as a result.
