Como is now in a series of three straight wins-to-nil against relegation candidates (Lecce 0-3, Udinese 1-0, Pisa 0-3) after losing to nil to Inter and Roma. Perfect team for betting, if they keep it up. We certainly expect them to keep beating the lesser teams and losing to ones that actually have more than one star player that they do.
This match against Bologna is the middle ground as Bologna is neither a star-studded side nor a relegation candidate. Como will likely approach this game in the same way that they do when one of the big teams comes to visit. There weren't too many so far as Como had an incredibly easy home schedule, but both Lazio and Juventus lost on their trip to Lago di Como with an identical scoreline of 2-0.
Como is a work in progress but the key word here is progress. Cesc Fabregas is making small steps towards creating a top-six team and it shows. The latest small win is the fact that Como can now confidently beat relegation candidates, which was a problem early in the season.
Bologna Team News
Bologna isn't too different from Como, it's just that Bologna peaked earlier and their peak may have passed. A side that was almost impossible to beat has started losing, and is now winless in last four Serie A rounds, with three defeats. The opponents were Juventus, Inter and Atalanta, so you could simply say that it's ok to lose to them, but coach Italiano is complaining about no-show performances in which Bologna isn't even a factor on the pitch. That's worrying.
