Wrexham dumped Premier League club Nottingham Forest out of the FA Cup last weekend albeit on penalties but nevertheless Phil Parkinson’s side captured a fifth win on the trot in all competitions with that cup win heading into Saturday’s Championship clash at home with Norwich City.
The Welsh club had previously collected four wins on the trot in the English second tier courtesy of victories over the likes of Sheffield United, Preston NE, Blackburn Rovers and Derby County respectively.
This recent flurry of league wins have helped lift Wrexham up into 9th place in the Championship table where The Dragons possess a reasonable looking home record which stands at 6-5-2 24/19 so the hosts will feel confident about their chances on Saturday afternoon.
Norwich City still occupy a place in the bottom three of the Championship table but results are starting to come for Philippe Clement’s side as The Canaries inflicted a comprehensive 5-1 thrashing over League Two side Walsall in the FA Cup last weekend.
Norwich have now lost just twice in their last eight matches overall, both of which came on home soil at Carrow Road in defeats to Watford and Stoke City but also includes picking up four wins and two draws as well.
Three of the recent four wins were achieved in the Championship as Norwich City achieved welcome wins against Southampton, Charlton Athletic and QPR, the latter being a 2-1 win in the nation’s capital at Loftus Road.
In addition, Norwich City possess an away record which stands at 3-5-5 16/20 which might just give the visitors a fighting chance of a result of some sort here.
