Nottingham Forest
Sean Dyche is very experienced at managing in final third of the Premier League and he has previously guided the likes of Burnley and Everton to safety when under pressure. Fans are beginning to question if Dyche has lost the touch though with Nottingham Forest struggling to move away from the bottom three and they were very unhappy with the performance on Friday when losing 3-1 at relegation rivals Leeds United.
Reports continue to circulate that Nottingham Forest are considering making yet another change in the manager's office, which would be the fourth of this campaign, but this is a club that can ill-afford to be relegated. They are just 3 points clear of West Ham United, but that gap could be completely erased on Tuesday, which only puts more pressure on The Tricky Trees when hosting at the City Ground. The side have a 3-3-6 record here in the top flight and that has simply not been good enough.
Nottingham Forest will be frustrated with a home draw against Crystal Palace before the defeat to Leeds United, especially as improving West Ham United have piled up some recent victories. They have recently won a Europa League game at the City Ground, but the draw with Palace means Nottingham Forest have won 1 of the last 6 Premier League games in front of the home fans.
Neco Williams is back from a suspension, but Murillo is a doubt.
Wolves
A month ago it looked like Rob Edwards had helped Wolves find some rhythm in their football, but this is a squad lacking consistency with young players being asked to develop on the pitch. Another home loss was suffered this weekend, but Wolves should still be playing with the motivation to get up to 12 points in the Division, even if relegation is all but confirmed.
Everything Rob Edwards puts in place now is to benefit Wolves for the return to the Championship when they will be amongst the favourites to earn an immediate return to the top flight. Losing too many key players has been impossible to overcome in this campaign and Wolves are 20th in the Premier League table with just 8 points secured all season. The side have a 0-3-9 record away from home and Wolves have scored just 5 goals in those matches.
Wolves had been unbeaten in 5 games in all competitions and that includes making progress in the FA Cup, but they have now lost 3 in a row. After earning 1-1 draws at both Manchester United and Everton, Wolves were most recently beaten 2-0 at Manchester City on their travels.
Toti, Andre and Hee-Chan Hwang are all expected to miss this game.
Head to Head
A second half goal was enough for Nottingham Forest to win 0-1 at Molineux in December.
However, they have not won any of the last 9 home games against Wolves and the last 4 have all ended in score draws.
Prediction
Both of these clubs may have bigger rivalries with others in the Midlands area, but you have to imagine the Wolves fans would take some pleasure in being able to try and drag Nottingham Forest down with them.
Barring a miracle, Wolves are going to be relegated.
And on recent form, Nottingham Forest fans are getting more and more nervy that they may be overtaken by West Ham United and finish in the bottom three of the Division.
Sean Dyche is experienced, but the players have been rumoured to be unimpressed with the methods, while the owner is not known for his patience. Reports have Dyche under pressure and you would find it very hard to make a case for him to retain his job if Nottingham Forest are beaten on Wednesday.
There looks to be some quality in the Nottingham Forest squad, but they have just struggled to put it all together.
Recent home form has been a big disappointment, but facing an opponent that has picked up 8 points all season has to be seen as a massive opportunity.
West Ham United do have the chance to put some real pressure on Nottingham Forest when hosting Manchester United on Tuesday, but Sean Dyche and his players should only be paying attention to winning this game.
In recent years Nottingham Forest have had successes at Molineux, but have not quite been able to find the right formula to beat Wolves at home. The last 4 here have all ended in draws, but that is not going to be good enough this week and Nottingham Forest will have to dig deep.
There are going to be tensions at times and Nottingham Forest will have to show some resiliency, but it is hard to ignore the fact that Wolves have scored just 5 away goals in the top flight all season. A goal apiece was enough to earn draws at Old Trafford and Hill Dickinson Stadium over the last six weeks, but Wolves have continued to be a little vulnerable at the back and the feeling is that Nottingham Forest can use the manager's experience to earn a narrow home win here in what should not be a high scoring game.
