Como just had a massive confidence booster and a sign that they're doing well as a club, as they won 0-2 in Turin against Juventus. This comes less than two weeks after knocking the reigning champion Napoli out of the cup, and a week after holding AC Milan to a 1-1 draw. The setback that is the home defeat to Fiorentina is all but forgotten now.
The win against Juventus means that Como is now only one point behind the Turin giants, and both are involved in a race with Roma and Napoli for the last two Champions League spots. Roma and Napoli are at 50 points, Juventus is at 46, and Como and Atalanta both have 45. Winning small matches such as this one is imperative with 11 rounds to go.
We'll be seeing Como in one of the European cups next season, it's now just a matter of which one it will be.
Lecce Team News
After two wins, against Udinese and Cagliari, that interrupted a long winless streak, Lecce reverted to mean with an expected 0-2 home defeat to Inter. Lecce doesn't ever score much so it's a minor miracle that they scored twice against Cagliari and twice against Udinese, and they even had a better xG in both of those matches. They were both good offensive performances for this side when you look at the stats, with plenty of shots and a good xG.
We certainly don't expect Lecce to keep it up as those performances never translate into a match against a more serious opponent. Lecce will only play when allowed, and any side from the upper half of this league won't allow it.
