After giving Premier League giants Manchester City a real scare in the FA Cup semi-final over the weekend, Southampton return to Championship action on Tuesday night but another tough fixture in the shape of visitors Ipswich Town at St Marys Stadium.
Southampton were dealt a 2-1 defeat by Pep Guardiola’s side but the south coast club can hold their heads high after pushing the top flight club all the way, and with an unbeaten run of 17 games in the Championship, The Saints will be eager to add to their points tally against Ipswich.

Ipswich Town were held to a disappointing 0-0 draw away from home at West Brom on the weekend but luckily for Kieran McKenna’s side, their direct rivals for the other automatic promotion spot, Millwall, also drew 1-1 away from home at relegated Leicester City.
The Tractor Boys have been handed just one loss in their last 13 matches in the Championship which came in the form of a 2-0 loss away at Portsmouth who were battling against relegation, but the visitors have collected seven wins and been involved in five draws within this period as well.
An away record of 9-6-7 35/28 could be better from Ipswich Town’s perspective but it should be noted that the Tractor Boys have suffered just one defeat in their last seven outings on the road in the Championship.
