RB Leipzig could hardly have asked for a better boost before this one. They demolished Eintracht Frankfurt 6-0 on Saturday, with Christopher Nkunku scoring a first-half hat-trick. RB Leipzig were already four goals ahead at the break and added two more after it.
Their home form has been just as impressive throughout the Bundesliga campaign. RB Leipzig have won all three home games without conceding, scoring 14 goals in the process. That makes the Red Bull Arena a difficult place for PSV Eindhoven to visit, even if RB Leipzig's away performances have been less convincing.
The challenge now is to carry that attacking sharpness into Europe. PSV Eindhoven are much more dangerous going forward than Eintracht Frankfurt looked on Saturday, so RB Leipzig cannot assume another comfortable night.
