Football : England : Premier League
Sunday 10th April 2011 – Kickoff 1.30pm
Blackpool host an Arsenal side that will be seething after missing out on a win at the Emirates last week when they could manage only a 0-0 draw against Blackburn.
Blackpool
The hosts are precariously placed sitting just one place and one point above relegation rivals West Ham who have dropped back down into the bottom three. But one thing is for certain, Blackpool will come out and attack Arsenal from the off and this will make it an entertaining spectacle in itself.
Blackpool are on a run of four matches without a win, conceding 12 goals and scoring just 3.
The Seasiders home record stands at 4-3-7 23/27, and they are expected to welcome back joint leading scorer DJ Campbell (9 goals) following his lengthy suspension.
In addition, Blackpool also have talented midfielder Charlie Adam (9 goals, 6 assists), Luke Varney (5 goals, 3 assists) and Gary Taylor-Fletcher (4 goals, 2 assists) as goals are never very far away at Bloomfield Road.
The stats don't get much better at home in recent times alas as they have won just once in their last six, but has seen 22 goals scored in total so the fans are getting their money’s worth at least.
Arsenal
Arsenal travel to Lancashire knowing they must attack and win this match if they are to maintain pressure at the top on Manchester United.
Despite carrying a lot of injuries such as Denilson, Djourou, Fabianski, Song, Szczesny and Vermaelen, along with Walcott and Sagna as major doubts, they should have at their disposal one Cesc Fabregas who returns to the fold following injury.
When you also have the likes of Van Persie (11 goals, 5 assists), Samir Nasri (9 goals), Andrei Arshavin (6 goals, 11 assists) and Maroune Chamakh (7 goals, 3 assists), there is plenty of firepower and plenty to suggest there will be more goals raining down at Bloomfield Rd on Sunday.
Arsenal are unbeaten in thirteen matches now, but another draw will be equal to a loss if Wenger's men fail to convert all the points in their favour on Sunday.
The Betting Verdict :
Blackpool will attack as they know no other way, and this will force Arsenal to counter, along with the fact that they must win here today.
Quite frankly, a 3-1 scoreline could go either way in this one!
