Big big game for Wales, who don't tend to qualify for major tournaments. They have not performed well for their current manager, who took over in January. Since ex-Fulham manager Coleman took over, the side have yet to score, let alone win!
Now, it's not like Belgium have been doing well in big tournaments either, in fact they haven't qualified for one either since they hosted the Euros 12 years ago. But, they have a side choc full of talent, players we are all very familiar with, as they all play in the biggest league in the world, the Premier League. Eden Hazard is the standout name, as the newly signed Chelsea player will look to carry on with his excellent current form and help turn Wales over.
Looking around the rest of the Belgian squad you see big names like Vermaelen, who captains Arsenal, Kompany, who captains English champions Manchester City, Fellaini who recently helped his Everton side start the season with a win over mighty Manchester United before scoring again against Villa in another win, and Dembele, who scored on his debut for Tottenham against Norwich.
There is just too much talent in this side to ignore. Wales have Ramsey and Bale but other than that I just don't see enough quality in this side. Bellamy, a player who could have had an impact, is out for this one. Earnshaw, who like Bellamy plays for Cardiff City, should play, and I'd keep an eye on him for if they are to score, it will likely come from him. He has 16 goals so far from 58 matches, a better return than Bellamy.
BETTING VERDICT
Got to be Belgium for me, at odds very close to even money. The odds have been dropping though so I'd get on this pronto before match day, by which time they should be lower.
I think Belgium may well even blank Wales, but I don't want to risk that bet being blown by a Wales goal, which they are due, so at home I will not go against their strikers, but bet on Belgium simply being better over the 90 minutes.
