BETTING PREVIEW

Arsenal may have only won 1-0 at home against Stoke in their last match, but defensively they absolutely bossed Stoke, who did not have a chance. In the reverse with Sunderland it finished 0-0 and I feel the Arsenal defence could well do another job here and keep a clean sheet.

The thing that concerns me is the fact this game comes away from home, where Arsenal have not scored a lot of goals. Still, the last match away in the league was a 2-1 loss at Chelsea, and they did score 3 since at Brighton to progress in the FA Cup.

Arsenal may be missing Walcott for this one, which is a blow, but with Giroud scoring at will in recent games there is reason to think Arsenal could not just net but do so several times.

Podolski and Cazorla are always threats, and Walcott can be replaced by a dangerous Ox down the right. Wilshere continues to impress for club and country, and was the man of the match in England's win over Brazil.

Sunderland have failed to win either of their last 2 games, drawing 0-0 against Swansea and then losing 2-1 at Reading. Their draw here against Swansea came after a horrible 2-0 loss to Bolton that ended their FA Cup campaign.

Arsenal's last visit here in the league was a 2-1 win, famous as it was the last goal scored by Henry, who was on loan, and popped up with the late winner.

In fact, the last 2 league games between the 2 (other than the stalemate this term) have ended 2-1 to the Arsenal, so that's a score to be looking at, along with the 1 goal winning margin, which I feel has a fantastic chance of hitting.

I don't love Arsenal's recent defensive form away from home, but I think this is a step down, as Sunderland were easily blanked by Bolton and Swansea. Arsenal have a great chance at a clean sheet, and that's enough to make the away win a solid bet.

THE BETTING VERDICT

I'll take Arsenal to win at the prices available but you could be greedy and go for the 1 goal winning margin, which pays a lot better.
