Preview
Game 4 was ridiculous as far as the Brooklyn Nets were concerned as almost everything conspired against them in the final few moments of regulation. It looked for all the world that the Nets were going to steal home court advantage back from the Chicago Bulls, but missed free throws and Nate Robinson turning into a second coming of Michael Jordan before a triple overtime win for the Bulls has left the Nets drinking in the last chance saloon.
There is little doubt that Brooklyn are suffering both physically and mentally from a disappointing Game 4 ending, but they are also aware that they have to extend the season by winning out the final three games.
Deron Williams had to play 58 minutes on Saturday, while the likes of Joe Johnson are still suffering with injuries. Brooklyn are disappointed that they haven't got this series back to 2-2, but they feel like they have outperformed the Bulls enough to think they can turn things around going forward.
While the Nets do have to overcome the mental disappointment of losing Game 4, the Bulls will be coming to a spring in their limp. Injuries are still affecting key players and Kirk Hinrich is a doubt for this one despite a big performance in Game 4.
Chicago were very proud of their ability to fight through hardship in Game 4, but are hoping their defence can get back to the stifling level they can enjoy. The Bulls also are aware that the Nets are dangerous and they will want to close the series and history is on their side in that respect.
Only eight teams have ever recovered from a 3-1 deficit in the NBA.
Head to Head
Chicago are now 6-2 against Brooklyn in the season series and they have won 3 in a row in the series.
The teams have split the four games in Brooklyn 2-2.
Prediction
Both teams are going to be tired in this game after playing a triple overtime on Saturday, but the home crowd should fire up Brooklyn enough to extend this series.
I can see tired defences perhaps struggling to keep close enough to the shooters in this one and the over looks the call.
