To say this National League Championship Series has been a disappointment would be an understatement and there is every chance that it is closed off after four game in a best of seven setting.

On Thursday, Game 3 was hosted by the Los Angeles Dodgers and while they did not have a starter as dominant as in the first two games, Tyler Glasnow laid a solid foundation and the bullpen cleaned up the remainder of the game. Once again the Milwaukee Brewers batting lineup failed to have any real impact and a mistake that saw the Dodgers move 3-1 ahead felt like a closing moment.

The Brewers have scored just a single run in each of the first three games played in this Series and that has not been a problem for the Dodgers. The 2024 World Series Champions have a batting lineup that goes deep and they have always found someone to step up and bring a second run over Home plate, which is all that has been needed to have unassailable lead.

Once again the Brewers are likely to go with an opener and this time they are expected to turn the ball over to Jose Quintana to get through the bulk of the Innings.

Unsurprisingly the results have meant plenty of criticism for the approach being taken by Milwaukee and people are wondering how a team that finished with the best record in the Major League haven't been able to put a decent starting rotation together.

Jose Quintana will be facing a dangerous batting lineup and will need some support from his own team, but that has not been forthcoming.

It is very difficult to see that changing with the Dodgers looking to close out the Series on Friday.

This time it is Shohei Ohtani who will be heading to the mound- he has not really had any big impact in the Playoffs as a batter, but Ohtani allowed three runs in 6 Innings thrown in a Divisional Round win over the Philadelphia Phillies. All of those were allowed at the bottom of the Second Inning, and Shohei Ohtani gave up a single Hit in the next 4 Innings.

His last four regular season starts had seen Shohei Ohtani put together a 0.46 ERA and there will be a huge amount of confidence that he can go at least as long as Tyler Glasnow before turning the game over to the bullpen.

Prediction

You would really have to fear for the Milwaukee Brewers if Shohei Ohtani is able to get through 6 Innings in Game 4 of the NLCS and nothing has been shown by the Number 1 Seed to believe they are going to turn this Series around.

Even forcing it back to Milwaukee would be a real achievement from 3-0 down and the Brewers have been out-Coached so far.

Jose Quintana is likely to be asked to get through the bulk of the Innings for the road team, but there is pressure on the opener and relievers knowing they are getting very little run support.

Three runs was all it took to earn a comfortable Game 3 win and the Los Angeles Dodgers can win this one and cover the Run Line again.

For all of the successes of the Los Angeles Dodgers, the batting lineup have done just enough to win games in this Series.

They may be able to have a bit more joy against a Milwaukee team that could be a little down on where they stand after falling into a 3-0 hole.

Both Max Muncy (4.90) and Freddie Freeman (5.25) are very capable of knocking the ball out of the park.

In Game 2, every batter got on board with a Hit aside from Mookie Betts and this could be another game when a disheartened Brewers team throws up some hittable pitches.
