Falkirk will head into Saturday’s Scottish Premiership clash against Hibernian in a positive frame of mind having dumped Hearts out of the Scottish Cup last weekend on penalties which also became a fourth win in six games overall for the hosts.
Despite being dealt defeats at the hands of Dundee and Celtic, Falkirk have also collected four wins within this recent period including Premiership victories over the likes of Kilmarnock, Aberdeen and St Mirren respectively.
These recent wins have not only overshadowed the two losses but has also helped Falkirk maintain their position in the top six pack in the Scottish Premiership table while the bigger picture shows The Bairns have lost just four of their last 13 matches in all competitions.
Hibernian’s promising five-match unbeaten run came to an abrupt end last weekend when Hibs suffered a 1-0 defeat away from home at Dunfermline Athletic in the Scottish Cup, so the visitors will be keen to make amends this Saturday.
Hibs had previously picked up three wins in the Premiership against Hearts, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock respectively along with points gained in draws with Dundee United and motherwell, so David Gray’s side will still feel confident about their chances at the Falkirk Stadium.
However, Hibernian’s results away from home have been fairly inconsistent as their away record of 4-4-3 15/12 suggests, and so the visitors are by no means a guaranteed result against Falkirk on Saturday afternoon.
