Match Preview :
Everton travels to the Britannia Stadium on Tuesday night to face Stoke hoping to finish their season on a high. In the second half of the season, they have recovered their campaign in great style and are on course for a second consecutive seventh-place finish. At the moment David Moyes' men currently unbeaten in their last six Premier League games.
Everton have kept that undefeated run while playing free-scoring football, having scored four goals in each of their last three games. And that was the first time they have scored four or more in three successive league outings since 1964! And their latest result - beating Fulham by 4-0 saw them maintain their position above fierce local rivals Liverpool in the standings.
And no doubt that January signing Nikica Jelavic has been a hit with the Toffees. He has scored two goals in each of his last three Premier League matches and Moyes will hope he can continue his strong form against Stoke.
On the other hand, Stoke managed a point against Arsenal in their last home match and kept their good record against the Gunners in their last eight games. Tony Pulis' side have slipped down to 14th in the table but still have a slim chance of finishing inside the top 10, much depends on how they perform in their last three games. They have scored the least amount of goals with only 33 which makes them the lowest scoring team in the Premiership.
Team News :
Stoke Team News :
Stoke are again likely to miss the services of defender Andy Wilkinson for the clash due to a groin injury. The 27-year-old missed Saturday's draw against Arsenal but the club are hoping he could come back for their final two games of the season.
Meanwhile, manager Tony Pulis has hinted at giving Denmark's Thomas Sorensen a chance in goal before the end of the season to give him match practice ahead of Euro 2012.
Everton Team News :
Defender Leighton Baines will be missing again for the visitors with a hamstring problem. The injury has sidelined the left-back since the FA Cup semi-final and he is not expected back at least until next weekend.
Other then a few knocks and bruises, Moyes is likely to keep faith from the same squad which beat Fulham on Saturday.
