PREVIEW
So Wolves continue to suck, even at home. They have now collected just 11 points from their last 18 home games, and have lost 9 straight games in front of their home fans. That's 1 less then the record for consecutive home losses, and I think they will match that today
Wolverhampton's last home game saw them lose 2-0 to Manchester City and that was their relegation sealed in the rain. Yes, with the weight off their shoulder they managed to put on quite the performance and fought back from the death to draw 4-4 at Swansea, but I will not read much into this. Swansea's defence has gone really bad in recent games, and to ship 4 in the first place is pathetic. Everton will not allow half that output here, if anything.
Everton have not lost their last 5 games against Wolves, who cannot even hold on to a lead when they have it. I was at Norwich when they took the lead and by the time I was done having a cuss about it with my mate they had conceded for 1-1. Wolves have dropped 20 points from winning positions, and it has cost them dearly. The defence continues to be poor, allowing a league most 254 shots by opponents and that means they have also conceded a large number, 79! In comparison, Everton have shipped just 39 goals all season!
Wolves have failed to find the net in their last 2 home games, and they have now failed to win here in 11 tries! What is worrying is the combination of their almost 2.40 average conceded at home, paired with the fact Everton have hit form and are able to score a bunch, especially with the arrival of Nikica Jelavic, who has 4 goals in his last 3 and 8 from his 8 league starts. This Everton side stuck 4 goals past Manchester United to turn the race on it's head, and at no stage can they be discounted.
I just cannot see past an Everton win here, but I am wary of the fact this is Wolverhamptons last Premier League home game. It's made me think of a 1 goal winning margin bet on Everton, but with the form they're on, and the motivation to finish above Liverpool still there, we could well see Jelavic put on a show and score a few.
BETTING VERDICT
Best to stick to the AH for slightly better odds but go with Everton to take all 3 points.
