Cowboys To Top Giants In East Matchup
New York Giants @ Dallas Cowboys
Football : United States, NFL 2009/2010
Sunday 20th September 2009
Kickoff 8:20PM - 01:20AM
The NFL betting season is well underway and injuries are already starting to take their toll.
The Chicago Bears will be without linebacker Brian Urlacher for the rest of the season, the Buffalo Bills will be without leading tackler Paul Posluzny for a long period of time and the Philadelphia Eagles may be without quarterback Donovan McNabb this weekend.
Online betting fans know that this is just part of the game and it is something they are going to have to account for in their sports picks.
The McNabb injury has the most intrigue to the teams in the NFC East as the Philadelphia Eagles were supposed to be the front runners. Without McNabb, they are clearly a different team.
That could open the door for someone like the Dallas Cowboys or New York Giants to move up the food chain. Those two teams meet up on Sunday and both will look to do exactly that.
Preview
Welcome to the new Cowboys Stadium as the ribbons will be cut for this Sunday Night Football contest.
The Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants got wins in their openers but both performed inconsistently.
For the Cowboys, their offense looks fine without Terrell Owens as they completed four passes of 40+ yards and quarterback Tony Romo set a new career high with 353 passing yards. But their defense gave up 450 yards of offense, including 174 on the ground.
For the Giants, they looked very sharp in the first half, building a 17-0 lead until the Washington Redskins scored on a fake field goal. The Giants ended up winning 23-17 but it proved to be much too close for comfort because the Giants struggled to run the ball.
THe Betting Verdict
In this contest, look for the Cowboys to reign supreme.
The Giants don’t have much in the way of a passing game and this will allow the Cowboys to crowd the box and slow down the tandem of Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw.
On offense, the Cowboys are multifaceted and as long as they give Tony Romo time to throw, he’ll work some magic. The Cowboys also have a very underrated ground game themselves.
In front of their home fans at a new stadium, look for the Cowboys to get the win.
