Derry face Bohs in a huge game on Tuesday night for both sides. Derry are 8 points behind Bohs and 9 behind leaders Shamrock Rovers with this being the game in hand for both sides. Their results against the top 2 have not been bad but its their insonsistency against the lower sides that must be frustrating for their fans. Despite beating Bohs and also Shamrock Rovers away from home earlier in the season they have also lost at home to sides nearer the bottom such as Galway Untied and Sligo Rovers.

However Derry have been on very good form of late and will provide a real test for Champions and favourites for the league Bohs. Derry have won 4 out of 5 in the league and won a tricky fixture 3-1 at Drogheda last time out.

A few weeks ago it looked as if Bohs were going to cruise home to their second league title in a row after opening up a 7 point lead on the chasing pack. Last season they won the league by 19 points and many thought they were about to pull away and win with ease again. But they lost 2 games in a row and were also knocked out of the FAI Cup and now find themselves 1 points behind arch rivals Shamrock Rovers, with this game at Derry being their game in hand where a win would put them back on top.

However Bohs did win the first domestic silverware of the season on Saturday after they beat Waterford 3-1 in the League Cup Final. This will definitely be a confidence boost after winning 1 game out of the previous 5 in all competitions. It is very possible that a fixture pile up could affect Bohs title run in. By next Friday they will have played 3 games in 6 days and will also have the All Ireland 'Setanta Cup' to contend over the coming weeks on top of some very important league games.

Games between Derry and Bohs then to be very close and this season both sides have a win each, with one game finishing in a draw. This is a massive game for Bohs as they will then face Shamrock Rovers in a top of the table derby clash on Friday night and will want to be going there as league leaders.
