Rubin has its’ mind set on the upcoming match against Barcelona on Tuesday, but first they have to take care of Krylia Sovetov to keep the lead at Premier League’s summit. Right back Vitaly Kaleshin is suspended. Sergey Semak is reported to be fit, but should not be risked. Striker Alexandr Bukharov who was suffering from a wrist injury is available for selection.

Kurban Berdyev will have to decide and set the right priorities between the scheduled games. Last time before the Champions’ League visit to Barcelona, Rubin played without a number of their regular players against Khimki. Tactic.
Rubin will try to decide the result of the game as early as possible and then switch to a more reserved style of play. Whereas for motivation and confidence: Rubin is like a flawless mechanism recently and psychologically only thoughts about the big game on Tuesday can affect the flow of the match.

Reining champions needed only 45 minutes to decide the outcome of their match in Rostov na Donu. Alejandro Dominguez scored his 15th of the season as he ran on to a randevue with Mandrykin after a cool interception. Left back Cristian Ansaldi added the second close to the half time break with a long range shot. After the interval Rubin obviously tried to keep the lead despite conceding a goal on the 47th minute.

Kurban Berdyev could not count neither on Semak or Bukharov. As a result team’s formation was switched to 4-4-2 with Dominguez and Karadeniz working up front. Rostov gave Rubin a lot of room to run into on the flanks and Karadeniz was dangerous as usual on the right. At the same time it looked like visitors had certain problems during possession attacks. Absence of tall Alexandr Bukharov left his team mates wondering where or whom should the ball be sent to. Both goals were scored on the fast break.

Krylia Sovetov celebrated their first win since the 30th of August and also the first under new manager Yury Gazzaev, when they beat Terek in Samara 2-0. Midfielder Anton Bober is suspended, while right back Roman Shishkin has done his time and comes back from disqualification. Midfielders Ruslan Adzhindzhal and Vladimir Kulik are still nursing injuries.

Should neither of the injured duo make it into the 18 man squad, Yury Gazzaev may well have to change the team to a 4-4-2 formation. There is no adequate substitution in the reserves to cover the absence of three midfielders: Kulik, Adzhindzhal and Bober.

Tactic.
Given Krylia’s mobile midfield they can surely rely on it to bring amends during the match. Rubin is in a must win situation and should provide necessary gaps at the back. The aerial battle is another aspect where Krylia can have the edge as Jarosik, Koller and O.Ivanov pose potential threat at set pieces.

Last match analysis.
Krylia was the more motivated team on the pitch when they welcomed Terek in Samara. Yury Gazzaev’s team especially relied on the long shots mostly due to the pouring rain. Eventually Vladislav Ignatiev, who is emerging into a very interesting prospect indeed, put one of those efforts in with his left foot. First goal, which was scored at the half hour mark was supported by Roman Adamov’s tap in. Russian striker came on as a substitute in the second half.

Yury Gazzaev did not change anything in the formation once again. The 4-5-1 scheme stayed despite being so widely criticized by the local fans for its obviousness. Suspended Roman Shishkin was substituted by Budylin on the right, while Brazilian Leilton took the left back position. Krylia looked solid pshysically, especially given the hard wet pitch.

Betting advice

Krylia Sovetov have two back to back games against Russian titans – Rubin and then Spartak Moscow. The motivation for them will come from head coach Yury Gazzaev, who should take every opportunity to establish himself in the Premier League elite and show what he is worth. If he gets this mood to the players – Rubin may face unexpected problems.
