Norwich City (3rd)

Norwich City go into this game pushing for a vital three points when they take on visitors Oldham Athletic at Carrow Road on Saturday.

Norwich will be hoping to close the gap on Charlton who themselves currently occupy second place.

Norwich’s form has been impressive of late, and they have only lost one in their last twelve matches home and away – that loss coming away at Elland Road when they conceded that freak last minute goal against Leeds United.

The Canaries have strung together some good results, and their home form is very good at 6-2-1 24:13. Norwich have won their last five matches at Carrow Road, scoring 16 goals in the process.

Confidence will be particularly high following an impressive second half display away to Southend United on Tuesday night, the Canaries scoring three goals in the final 22 minutes to win the match 3-0.

Canaries dangermen include striker Grant Holt (12 goals) who has been in lethal form recently, along with midfielder Wes Hoolahan(7 goals) & young striker Chris Martin (5 goals).

Oldham Athletic (19th)

Oldham Athletic can’t take a trick at the moment – they’ve now gone five matches without a win, and this was compounded by a home loss to local rivals Leeds Utd 0-2 on Tuesday night.

The Latics have also lost their last two away matches; 0-1 v Gillingham and 0-3 v Walsall respectively.

Oldham have only managed to find the net six times on their travels (only Yeovil Town & Brentford have scored less with 5 goals apiece), and they are in real danger of being sucked into a relegation dogfight.

The away record for Oldham so far reads 3-2-4 6:9, the three wins being recorded at Leyton Orient (2-1), 1-0 at Southend Utd & 2-0 at Brighton.

Perhaps most alarming is the fact That Oldham only scored two goals in their last five matches as they struggle to create let alone convert any decent chances.
