Analysis:Last season when these two teams met at the Stadio Olimpico Roma played one of their finest footballing moments under Luciao Spalletti and won 3-0. Now with the arrival of Claudio Ranieri, things has just got better.
Before the arrival of Ranieri, Roma were conceding two goals a game but now they had made a remarkable improvement and were letting in just 0.20.

Genoa on the other hand, are poor travellers, losing six of their nine games away from Marassi. Gian Piero Gasperini’s side biggest problem is their level of consistency. They did however end a two match losing streak when they beat Catania to move 11th in the standings.
With both sides being involved in the Coppa Italia, it will be interesting to see what effect it has on the players. Roma had to come back from behind to beat Triestina 3-1 on Tuesday night while Genoa faced a quick rematch against Catania the following evening.
