A Sports Betting Pick by Gooner
Football: England, Premier League 2009/2010
Wednesday 9th February 2010 - Kickoff 8pm
Fulham (10th) Home : 7-2-3 16:8
Fulham's 0-0 draw at Bolton on the weekend was progress of sorts, and the Cottagers had lost their previous four away games.
Now it's back to home comforts, and Fulham's home record has been satisfactory this season for both the fans and the punters who have been following thier home record.
With seven wins from 13 games, usually at around EVEN money, it's been a tidy little system backing Fulham at home, especially with the 6/1 payday is 3-0 home win over Manchester Utd, and a 7/2 payout when the Cottagers beat Liverpool 3-1.
Fulham Team News :
Fulham welcome back top scorer Bobby Zamora after illness while Simon Davies also returns.
But midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi will be out for up to six weeks after damaging ankle ligaments in the weekend's draw with Bolton.
Doubtful : Gera (knee)
Injured : Dempsey (knee), Johnson (knee), Pantsil (knee), Dikgacoi (ankle), Konchesky (ankle)
Burnley (15th) Away : 0-1-11 8:35
Burnley's away record is awful so far in the Premier League as the Clarets have drawn one and lost 11 in 12 Premier League away games this season - including their last five in a row without scoring.
That has to change - especially as Burnley have quite a good home record with 6 wins from 12 games - but until we can see a concrete sign of change on the road - I would not bet on it.
Burnley Team News :
Burnley defender Stephen Jordan could be fit to play after a fortnight out with a hamstring strain.
Doubtful : Jordan (hamstring)
Injured : Alexander (calf), Caldwell (groin), McCann (knee)
The Betting Verdict :
Fulham have not been scoring many goals, in fact just one goal in the last five league games, but the visit of a leaky Burnley defence might be enough to get the goals flowing again.
Fulham should simply have too much possession and create too much pressure in the final third for Burnley to be able to match.
Fulham should score a couple of goals, and that will be enough to win.
