Analysis:

Tenerife are second from the bottom and will start this match as the huge underdogs. They have gone eight games without a win since beating Sporting Gijon 2-1 at home back in 6th December 2009.

Tenerife can take heed that their home record is not all that bad. They have won 4, drawn 3 and lost 4. Thought they have lost two out of their last three home games, they managed to hold Valencia to a draw which is sandwiched between two big losses against Zaragoza 1-3 and also Barcelona 0-5!

Since the heavy defeat to Barcelona, their goals have been hard to come by as they have scored only 2 goals in four matches. But a check through the statistics, it has been quite sometime since they lost three matches in a row. The last being when they lost to Real Madrid 3-0 away from home back in 26th September last year and was beaten by Deportivo at home 0-1 and then also lost to Espanyol 2-1 away from home.

Since then the longest Tenerife have suffered was consecutive defeats to which after that they would get a draw.

As for Mallorca, they are currently 4th in the standings but their away record is not convincing as they have managed only one win, 4 draws and as many as 6 defeats!

Despite managing their only away win against Osasuna on 13th December, that was followed by an away defeat to Malaga when they were beaten 2-1.

Mallorca's last three away games reads as defeat to Xerez 2-1, defeat to Real Madrid 2-0 and defeat to Mallaga 2-1. Despite winning their last match against Villarreal 1-0 at home, I just can't see them winning this match even though against second from bottom Tenerife.
