Celtic (2nd) Home Record W7 D4 L1
Dundee United (4th) Away Record W6 D6 L1
Celtic let a 2 goal lead slip late on at Aberdeen to draw 4-4 in an incredible game. Celtic started terrific with an early goal from Diomansay Kamara but conceded straight away and it was to be the story of the game as Aberdeen fought back on each occasion to get a draw. Celtic's defending was shocking, some new faces playing with each other and a clear out of old players are still no excuse.
Celtic are now 10 points behind Rangers again and face an uphill battle to take their SPL crown from them. It is looking better at the other end of the pitch. Robbie Keane bagged his first SPL goal and other new signings Morten Rasmussen and Diomansay Kamara have both bagged a couple of goals since their move. This is simply a must win game for Tony Mowbray's side especially with the visit to Ibrox to come the week after in the Old Firm derby. But they did look much more convincing when beating Hearts 2-0 in their last home outing.
Dundee United left it late last week at St Mirren to win 2-1. It was their first SPL win in 4 games and keeps them in the battle for third place and indeed even second as they are only 6 points behind Celtic and a win here would be a huge result for them. However they have been leaking too many goals of late, something that didnt happen too often under Craig Levein. They drew 4-4 with Kilmarnock and 3-3 with St Johnstone in recent weeks and will need to be much stronger defensively at Celtic Park.
However they do have plenty of firepower with the likes of Jon Daly and Damian Casalinuovo on 7 and 6 SPL goals repectively and last weeks match winner David Goodwillie on 5. Last season United gave Celtic two really tough games at Celtic Park in 2-2 draws and a 2-1 defeat and have beaten them 2-1 at Tanadice this season and earned a 1-1 draw at Celtic Park earlier in the season. United have certainly made themselves a bogey side for Celtic in recent seasons.
