A Sports Betting Pick by Addicted

Bolton Wanderers V Wolverhampton Wanderers
Football : England : Premier League
Saturday 27th February 2010 - Kickoff 3pm

Bolton (18th) Home : 3-5-5 17:23

This is a game Bolton can actually win. They are currently down in 18th place but only a point behind Wolves, making this the real "relegation 6 pointer" of the weekend.

Bolton have now gone without a win in their last 5 games, although all but 1 of them were played away from home. However, they have only lost once in their last 6 home games, so will welcome a return back to the Reebok, and a chance to grab 3 precious points against weak opposition. With only 5 wins all season, this game is a must win if Bolton are to stick around as it is arguably one of the easiest fixtures left in their run in.

Under Gary Megson Bolton did play some ugly football, something they did under big Sam, but they did manage to grind out some points and keep themselves up. But the fans moaned about the quality of football played.

Since the arrival of Coyle, Bolton Wanderers brand of football is more attractive, but they've only picked up 5 points from a possible 30, albeit against tough opposition. Hey, not everyone can be Barca!

It's worth noting that Bolton have been quite toothless recently, getting thumped 4-0 by Tottenham in the FA Cup, that match following the 3-0 loss to Blackburn, and the goalless stalemate at Wigan.

Wolverhampton (16th) Away : 2-3-7 11:25

Mick McCarthy comes into this game after a tough fixture at home against the leaders Chelsea. Wolves actually did alright in my opinion, despite the final score of 2-0.

Wolves were unlucky not to score, and perhaps even have snatched a draw, as Petr Cech made one miraculous save after another to preserve Chelseas slender lead before Drogba completed his brace to make the game safe.

The performance will be encouraging for the manager as they created a whole handful of scoring opportunities. The problem is, as in most of their away games, they failed to capitalise in the final third and convert the chances.

Away from home, Wolves have only won on 2 occasions, although recently they have had a horrible run of away fixtures where they understandably got beaten by Liverpool, Manchester United, and Birmingham. In that last game at Birmingham, Wolves actually led 1-0 before letting in two late goals.

The Betting Verdict :

This really isn't worth touching from a betting angle, in my opinion.

But I do see this being a tight game, so perhaps a 1-0 result to either side?
