Analysis:

Both sides will want to win this match for different reasons. Genoa for a spot in Europe while Livorno to get out of the bottom of the table.

As it is now, Genoa are just four points away from fifth-placed trio Napoli, Juventus and Sampdoria, but can't find enough consistency to knock on the doors of a place in Europe. They have a good home record with 10 wins, four draws and two defeats.

Genoa are the highest-scoring team on their own turf with a massive 39 goals, however they also had the disctintions of the second-to-worst defensive record in Serie A with 51 conceded.

Genoa will want to win this match considering that they have the big derby with Sampdoria to come next week.

Livorno has only scored 21 goals all season before this match. On their travels the Tuscans scored only six times in 15 games, so getting a result at the Marassi fortress is asking a lot of them. They did however gave Inter a fight in the first half at the San Siro before going down 3-0.

Coach Serse Cosmi has admitted he will not give up the fight. Despite the fans showing their anger at President Aldo Spinelli and the squad.

As for the team news, both players have key players out. For Genoa, Giuseppe Sculli sits out a ban, joining the injured Dario Dainelli, Houssine Kharja, Bosko Jankovic, Robert Acquafresca and possibly Ivan Tomovic.

Livorno are without Leonardo Miglionico, while Romano Perticone and Nelson Rivas are fitness doubts ahead of this match.
