Juventus managed to end their three match winless run by beating Atalanta at home with an unconvincing 2-1 win. They had Felipe Melo as his late goal gifted them all three points.

Now there are rumours that Laurent Blanc is being lined up as their new coach in the summer which means that the short-term contract Alberto Zaccheroni signed to replace Ciro Ferrara is looking unlikely to be extended.

Alberto Zaccheroni, the former Milan and Inter boss has hardly impressed since taking over the reign at the Stadio Olimpico. Heavy defeats in recent weeks away to Fulham and Napoli have exposed just how poor and low on confidence this Juve team have been.

Juventus are still just three points off fourth place so there’s everything to fight for here. A win here would help them considerably and to be fair Juve’s record on the road this campaign has been decent with seven wins thus far.

Udinese are staying alive in Serie A thanks largely to Antonio Di Natale’s goalscoring success. Pasquale Marino’s side sit just one place above the relegation zone with a four-point safety cushion and just seven games to go before the season comes to an end. They should survive another season in Serie A largely due to the three teams below them being worse than they are at present.

Udinese has injuries to contend with the likes of Gaetano D’Agostino, Christian Obodo, Dusan Basta and Andrea Coda all missing.

While for Juventus, their list is bigger with legendary goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon is still out, along with third-choice shot-stopper Antonio Chimenti. Then in defence, full-backs Martin Caceres and Paolo De Ceglie are injured along with hardman Giorgio Chiellini.

Danish holding midfielder Christian Poulsen, winger Hasan Salihamidzic and trequartista Diego are all on the treatment table, with Azzurri forward Vincenzo Iaquinta completing already huge injury list.
