Barcelona
Famous Las Ramblas street was celebrating the Spanish La Liga title this sunday after Barcelona easily defeated Real Madrid on the road. Few people could have thought it would turn out such a walk in the park for Catalan giants.
Without Ibrahimovic and Abidal, Barcelona was inspired by Xavi's magic, whose two superb passes set up Messi and Pedro for goals. Pep Guardioal prepared a little surprise for his colleague Pellegrini by sending Dani Alves further up the pitch to play the right winger instead of Krkic, who was left at the bench.
Barcelona is still short of Zlatan and Abidal before the match against Deportivo at Camp Nou. Iniesta sustained yet another injury and is expected to be out for at least one month. Guardiola passed on a cunning comment about his hopes to see Iniesta be fit for the Champions' League final.
Pep's self-confidence is perhaps one of the things, which is making Barca simply unbeatable.
Deportivo La Coruna
Deportivo are in a hunt for a place in either of the European Cups. Some time ago the Champions' League zone was in their hopes, but after a recent slump dreams had to reviewed.
Depor had a 4 match losing streak in March, which included defeats against Valladolid,Sporting,Getafe and Atletico Madrid. The last two are especially bitter since both teams are direct rivals for the European cup zone.
Anyway Lotina's work in La Coruna still deserves big admiration as his side are consistently fighting for a top 6 fininsh year in and year out.
At the week-end Depor was held to a 1-1 draw against Racing Santander at the Riazor. Riki's first minute goal was later denied by Moral's equalizer. Depor has a modest away record of 4-4-7 with a goal difference of 12:19.
Betting advice
Bookies are absolutely mad about Barcelona and backing them in such games has practically no value.
Catalans showed just how pragmatic they can be during a tough schedule and there's no reason to expect another super-show on Wednesday.
