This is one I played last night and wished I had done a write up on. The under 7 hit easily with the final score of 1-0 and I think tonight will be similar.
PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES
Roy Halladay is on the mound tonight, and he actually just gave up 4 runs to the Mets on Sunday. But, I didn't see much wrong with his numbers. He allowed just 1 walk while striking out 10. Indeed, since the AL Break, he has struck out 40 batters while walking just 3. I'm going to disregard the last head to head and treat it as a one off because Hallayday has actually shut the Mets out this season in complete game, giving up just 3 hits.
Halladay is also a proud pitcher. Whenever he has been tonked for a few runs, say 4 or more, he has always done extremely well the next match, pitching to an ERA of almost 2.00. The Mets offencse is not that great in my opinion, and I can see Roy getting some measure of revenge here but in a much improved result. Expect lots of strikeouts.
NEW YORK METS
Pat Misch goes for the Mets, and he comes in from the AAA with some excellent numbers: A 11-4 record, and a 3.23ERA. He has also walked just 24 batters in 150.2 innings. With his excellent current form, allowing 0 runs in 2 of his last 3 outings while issuing only 2 walks in his last 5, I feel confident of the kind of problems he can cause the Phillies.
Speaking of the Phillies, they have not got much experience against Misch and he is certainly good enough to be a bit of a strikeout machine too. With a batting line-up that is overrated, I think he could pressure them equally well, while the bullpen comes into this with no fatigue thanks to the previous couple pitchers throwing complete games.
BETTING VERDICT
The Mets offense is feeble and the one brought by Philadelphia is overrated. I'm putting my faith in the pitchers to do what they're capable of. This game total will stay low.
