This will get ugly.
MANCHESTER UNITED
No one likes getting the hairdryer treatment from Ferguson and I think the whole team probably got covered in spit last week. United were 2-1 up on Fulham before Nani missed a penalty to put the game beyond the plucky west Londoners. Breda Hangeland said thank you for the team, as he rose to connect with a header to send Sir Alex back with a point. And again, it was Nani who was at fault for the equaliser. I shudder to think what happened in the changing room.
Ryan Giggs, captain of the side, will probably take any penalties that might be gifted to the home side, after Nani's horrible efforts at Fulham. Berbatov and Rooney are back in the side, having missed last weeks trip to London, and I think they'll be out for blood against a very weak Hammers defence. If there is a team you can count on to follow a poor performance with a dominant one, it's Manchester United.
Expect magic from Paul Scholes as usual, and a return to scoring goals for Rooney.
WEST HAM UNITED
The Hammers are now 0-2 for the season and lie 19th, facing a sh*tstorm in Manchester. Avram Grant will have his hands full trying to devise a tactic that might give them a chance of getting anything out of this match. My guess is he'll have to wait for another day to pick up opening points.
Robert Green, who rose to prominence by fumbling the ball into his own net for England in the World Cup, is the West Ham keeper, and he has let in 3 goals in both the games played so far. The defence looked very shaky and it seems like confidence in general is at floor level. Up front, the forwards too look unsure of their own capabilities and West Ham also had a player miss a penalty last week, Carlton Cole.
Scott Parker is probably the only bright spot for the Hammers, but this is, sadly, a team game. West Ham look set for an evening of punishment.
BETTING VERDICT
Non stop attack from United, and I feel this will turn into a riot. 6-0 anyone?
