Charlton are down in 18th and will face a Blackburn side very much in the promotion mix. Steve Keans Rovers lie 3rd at this stage and will be hoping for a win against a team that has beaten them just once in the last 5 meetings.
Charlton broke a run of 3 straight 1 goal margin losses with a narrow 1 goal win at Ipswich. however, they have conceded in all but 1 of their league games this season and that spells trouble against a Blackburn side that has scored 15 this season thanks to their team still being relatively strong after relegation from the Premier League.
Charlton will however look at the 11 Blackburn have conceded and know they have a chance. Indeed, in the last 5 meetings when they have played host to Blackburn they have won 4 times. Still, those games happened a while back and I won't read too much into that, but of course home advantage is bound to help them at least put in a fight, especially after their recent win away.
Blackburn have the 2nd best offence in the league, with just Blackpool scoring 1 more than them. But they are getting involved in some serious goalfests recently thanks to their approach. Goals are being leaked in the back, and that is what puts me off a punt on them. Against Bristol City, they conceded 3 but won by 2. Before that, Leeds were allowed 3 goals in a fun draw and if you look at their recent games on any stat page you'll find at least 3 goals being scored in their last half dozen games.
BETTING VERDICT
I might not want to back Blackburn but I really do love their offence. Charlton may get involved in this one by taking advantage of the Blackburn defence but let's keep it simple and focus on what the visitors can do when they push for a goal.
