Benfica have not helped themselves by failing to score an away goal, but with the 1st leg ending just 1-0 to the Turkish side, this tie is still very winnable for the Portuguese. Benfica are a very solid side when playing at home, and I feel Fenerbache may even fail to score!
Goals will surely come for the home side, who have had no fewer than 46 scored by combo of Lima and Cardozo. If you fancy a first goalscorer bet, then look at these two as I think it may just be the home side that get the goals and where else than these two dangerous South Americans. Cardozo has a fantastic return in European play this season, with 6 goals in 6 games!
Fenerbache have a decent record this season but they are rightly priced as massive underdogs for this match against Benfica. They may be unbeaten away from home in Europe this term, but in their last away game in the Turkish league they did get beaten 2-0 at Genclerbirligi.
Benfica don't lose many at home, and other than the loss to Barcelona, and Chelsea they have not been beaten in their last 15, with 11 wins. I was looking at the win to nil, which could come 1-0 or 2-0, either sending the game into ET or giving the hosts the tie, but maybe we can try and just find a way to back the home side without relying on the defence, as good as I think they will be.
THE BETTING VERDICT
I'd be surprised if the Turks got through, despite their lead. I'll go with Benfica to use their strong home form to turn it around and progress.
