2006-10-07 - Clemson Tigers at Wake Forest
A Sports Betting Pick by GoldFinger
Let's start this weekend off with another bet on the Clemson Tigers who were awesome in demolishing Louisiana Tech 51-0 last weekend and easily covering the -33.5 spread. The Tigers are now 4-1 (that loss in overtime to Boston College) and in the last two weeks the Tigers have been mauling sides to a combined score of 103-7. Those are big numbers.
The tigers have plenty of weapons with RB James Davis (512 YR & 11 TDs), RB C.J. Spiller (185 YR in last 2 games), and spectacular WR Jacoby Ford, who has already returned a punt and a kick more than 90 yards for scores.
Wake Forest have some statistics about them that may have drawn in the line makers, they're 5-0 this year, and beat Clemson 31-27 last year too - but that is about all that Wake has going for them.
The Deacons have benefited from a very easy schedule - facing schools like Duke, UConn, and Ole Miss as well as Div. I-AA team Liberty - and that will not help them here, while Wake have also lost their starting Quarterback and best Running Back to season ending injuries.
That means that the -16.5 spread doesn't look big enough again, especially as Wake are actually ahead of Clemson in the current ACC standings - a fact that simply paints a bullseye target on their shirts for this game against a rampant Tigers side.
Take Clemson to demolish Wake Forest and probably double that handicap margin.
The Pick :
Wake Forest 10 – 44 Clemson
