2006-10-07 - Texas A&M at Kansas Jayhawks
A Sports Betting Pick by GoldFinger
Then let's go to Kansas to see whether the Texas Aggies deserve to be -1.5 point favourites over the home town JayHawks.Kansas started badly against Nebraska last week going down 0-17, but they rallied to force OT before losing 32-39.
It will be important for the JayHawks that Senior QB Barmann does not start as badly this time (he was 0-6 with 2 INTs in the 1st Quarter against Nebraska).
Kansas have got plenty of offense with receivers Murph and Fields and the Tight End Fine combining for 21 receptions last week, while the Running Back Cornish has gone for 582 YR, 5.1 ypc being an experienced Offensive Line.
This one will be a big test to Texas A&M who have to get over that late home loss to Texas Tech last week, and now have to go face a confident side in a noisy stadium with a QB who doesn't really look too confident.
I'm not convinced that the Aggies can get much rushing against Kansas, so there will have to be a much better performance from QB McGee who went 9-20, 103 yds, 1 INT against Texas Tech.
The Aggies do have a good 6-1 series record against Kansas, but have not played this opponents for 3 years ,and even that game was at home - so I don't put too much stock into that score.
Looking at the performance of the respective teams against the spread, the Texas Aggies are only 3-12 playing away since 2003, while Kansas Jayhawks are 10-3 since 2004 when playing at home at Lawrence.
I'll take the home side.
