2006-11-29 - Fulham vs Arsenal
A Sports Betting Pick by Gooner
Now to take a look at my beloved Arsenal - and I'll warn you from the start that this punt is probably only for Arsenal fans.FULHAM
Fulham have been OK this season after starting off with a 1-5 loss on opening day (at Old Trafford) they've gone on a 4-4-4 record scoring nearly as many goals as they concede.
But underneath the covers there are a few problems with Fulham and Chris Coleman, and it's almost as if he's losing his touch to motive the players down at Craven Cottage these days.
That 0-1 home loss to Reading was their 3rd home defeat of the season, and a look at that list of opponents (Chelsea apart) doesn't exactly make frightening reading.
Fulham Home Form
25/11/06 L 0-1 v Reading
04/11/06 W 1-0 v Everton
28/10/06 L 0-1 v Wigan
16/10/06 W 2-1 v Charlton
23/09/06 L 0-2 v Chelsea
26/08/06 W 1-0 v Sheff_Utd
23/08/06 D 1-1 v Bolton
ARSENAL
Arsenal's away form has not been great either, just 3-0-3, but that's the nature of the Premier League these days as away points are hard to get. Arsenal are still 4th on the away form table.
The 1-3 defeat to Bolton looks a poor result, but the result tells little of the match with Arsenal hitting the woodwork on at least 3 occasions (before I turned off my telly in disgust) and generally giving as good as they got.
Plenty of positive team news for Arsenal for this game thought with Thierry Henry and Tomas Rosicky returning from injury and Robin Van Persie also back from suspension.
This is a much stronger Arsenal lineup.
Arsenal Away Form
25/11/06 L 1-3 v Bolton
05/11/06 L 0-1 v West_Ham
22/10/06 W 4-0 v Reading

17/09/06 W 1-0 v Man_Utd

HEAD TO HEAD
The Gunners like playing Fulham anywhere - as the Cottagers typically play a very open style of game that allows Arsenal to get about their business and play an entertaining brand of football.
Arsenal have won on their last five visits to Fulham, and also have a 4-1-0 record at Highbury against Fulham too - so it's fair to say that when these sides clash it's usually the Gunners that take the points.
Head to Head Form
04/03/06 Fulham 0-4 Arsenal
11/09/04 Fulham 0-3 Arsenal
09/05/04 Fulham 0-1 Arsenal
03/11/02 Fulham 0-1 Arsenal
15/09/01 Fulham 1-3 Arsenal
THE VERDICT
I know I'm biased, but I AM getting a good feeling about this fixture and I think that Arsenal can score a few goals and take the points.
I'm not sure of those percentages - it is really hard to express a side who are as up and down as Arsenal in raw numbers - but I do think that Arsenal will win this game.
The Pick :
BEST BETTING TIP :
So a bet for GOONERS only then - take ARSENAL to win.UPDATE:
You can get a price of 11/10 (2.10) at EuroBet for Henry to score ANYTIME - that's a cracking bet - and probably the best play on this match.
