BUFFALO BILLS

Buffalo have overcome a lot of issues this season and therefore must be congratulated on the fact that they are 7-7 and 2nd placed in the AFC East. Their loss at Cleveland last week ended their last chance of making the playoffs but Dick Jauron should be proud of his players who have managed to surprise a lot of the experts with their results this season.

The Bills are 4-3 at home this season, but this record does not tell it all. New England blew out the Bills here but the other 2 losses were both on late field goals which meant the Bills lost both matches by 1 point. Buffalo have won 3 of their last 4 at home.

The Bills have been a streaky team this season, as before last week they had won 2 straight matchs, before that lost 2 straight and before that won 4 straight. The last 3 weeks has seen the Bills not concede more than 17 points and it really is their defense that keeps games close enough for the Bills to win games.

They have only allowed more than 26 points on 3 occasions this season and twice it was to New England. They have also kept teams below 20 points on 7 occasions.

The Bills have been suffering from injuries all season but they still manage to get the job done. Trent Edwards continues at QB and Roscoe Parrish should be able to play.

NEW YORK GIANTS

The New York Giants are the number 5 seed in the NFC and have a record of 9-5. They need 1 more win to guarantee a place in the playoffs as they are only 2 games clear of Washington and New Orleans. A place could also be assured if Washington and New Orleans both lose in their matches with Minnesota and Philadelphia respectively.

The Giants have a 6-1 record on the road and that is 6 straight victories since losing in Week 1 in Dallas. They have struggled since their bye week and have a 3-3 record since then. In a weird twist, they have won all 3 road games since their bye and lost all 3 at home, but all their victories on the road were in close wins with none by more than 6 points. The offense has struggled recently and have not scored more than 21 points in their last 6 games.

New York are suffering injuries with Sinorice Moss and Kevin Dockery missing out this week. Plaxico Burress has continued with no practice during the week and while he is listed at questionable for the game, I would expect him to start. Steve Smith remains sidelined but Brandon Jacobs should be ok to start.

HEAD TO HEAD AND STATS

It is going to be a cold windy day in Buffalo with a very high chance of rain. This could effect the Giants offense like it did last week and will cause problems. The Bills are mainly a running first offense so they should be able to make a better adjustment than their visitors.

The Bills have played hard all season and are a very tough team to play on the road.

The Giants are currently having their usual late season disappointments as they have the last 2 seasons but they would not like to enter the match with New England next week needing to win.

The rain and the wind seemed to effect the Giants game last week and I feel the Bills are going to keep the game close.
