2008-01-12 - Seattle Seahawks at Green Bay Packers

- NFL NFC Division Playoff-
Lambeau Field 12th January 2008
Green Bay Packers
Reg Season Record 13-3-0
Brett Favre has had a great season after being written off and I’ve just read that he is thinking about having another season once this one is over and with the season the Packers have had so far then why not.
The Packers won the NFC North with ease and their record was 13-0 with the nearest team to them being the Vikings who ended with 8-8 and with the bears being poor this season and the lions it wasn’t the hardest of leagues to win but I don’t think many thought at the start of the season that the Packers would win it with such ease.
Home form saw them win seven out of the eight games played
Recent form saw them lose quite heavily at the Bears 35-7 but they have won easy enough at home recently when they played the Lions (34-13) and beating the Raiders 38-7.
Seattle Seahawks
Reg Season Record 10-6-0
Seattle play their second game of the playoff after beating the Redskins last weekend with ease at home, the final score of 35-14 being about right in a game that the Seahawks never really looked like losing to me.
As for the season that has just passed they won the NFC East but I don’t think they would have been happy with the six defeats that came there way however a home record of 7-1 was impressive the away form was not with the team losing five times on the road.
They have lost their last two away games at Atlanta in a high scoring 44-41 and also away at Carolina in a low scoring 13-10 defeat.
The problem the Seahawks have is that their route to the Super bowl will not mean they must play away from home and for a team that has lost five on the road this will prove a hard task
Verdict
Green Bay will have to much for the Seahawks for me and the price on offer of around 1.32 seems decent enough and worth a decent bet.
The Pick :
Green Bay to win on the Money Line
