Analysis:Reading are playing for Premiership survival here as they take on a Tottenham side that have nothing to play for this season after earning their ticket to the UEFA Cup courtesy of beating Chelsea in the League Cup.
Reading are currently one point above the relegation zone and a defeat here would see them fall into the bottom three. Even though they have failed to score in their last five matches, they will be eager to score here as they do have a good scoring records against Tottenham, scoring six goals in three games against Spurs this season.
Reading will not have the services of defender Ibrahima Sonko and midfielder Emerse Fae after both were suspended by the club for refusing to play for the reserves and will no longer feature until next season. The likes of Brynjar Gunnarsson and Jimmy Kebe are available once again after recovery from their injury but Glen Little is rated doubtful with a calf injury here.
Leroy Lita will once again spearhead the attack after he did well against Wigan last weekend. Kevin Doyle’s participation is in doubt as he has just returned back after a family bereavement in Ireland.
As for Tottenham, they enter this match after drawing their last four games nd he will be keen to get back to winning ways at Reading and finish on a winning note. Juande Ramos will welcome back defender Alan Hutton after recovery from a toe injury.
Meanwhile Captain Ledley King is out for the rest of the season with a knee injury. The likes of Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Gareth Bale are also out for the rest of the season with knee and foot injuries respectively.
Tottenham will hope that Dimitar Berbatov can score here as he has scored six goals against Reading this season. When these sides last met Tottenham won 6-4 and Berbatov scored four goals in that win.
However, I will go for Reading to get the win here against Tottenham who have nothing left to fight for.
