Parma have their backs against the wall despite their last win in Serie A against Genoa. This is because they need to beat not only Fiorentina, but also Inter Milan in their last match to have any chance of staying in Serie A. That is indeed a tall order for them.
With regards to the team news, the home side Fiorentina will be missing the services of Manuel Pasqual and Adrian Mutu who are suspended for this clash. Fiorentina or better known as Viola will be missing particularly the services of Adrian Mutu as the Romanian is banned for the rest of the season. Nevertheless Prandelli will still opt to start with the tried and tested 4-3-3 formation with two midfielders, Martin Jorgensen and Massimo Gobbi – starting as attacking full backs.
Marco Donadel looks set to start in midfield instead of Fabio Liverani. The attack will comprise the likes of Mario Santana, Giampaolo Pazzini and Pablo Osvaldo. The likes of Christian Vieri is out injured while Franco Semioli will be relegated to the bench.
As for Parma's coach Hector Cuper he will be glad to welcome back several players who will return after suspension. However, Fernando Couto is still suspended for this vital clash. Luca Bucci will find himself warming the bench for the second consecutive week running, which means that we will get to see Nicola Pavarini once again in this match. The defence will comprise of Giulio Falcone and Paolo Castellini. In attack Cuper will rely on the likes of Reginaldo combining with Cristiano Lucarelli to get the goals.
The player to watch out for this match will be Giampaolo Pazzini as he will have to shoulder the goalscoring chances with the absences of Adrian Mutu who is out suspended.
