Saudi Arabia emerged from a gruelling Asian section of the World Cup qualifiers with eventual success and much relief as they proved their resilience by achieving a place in this upcoming edition of the World Cup finals having safely navigated four rounds of qualifying in the AFC.

Onto Senegal then, and the unofficial kings of Africa will no doubt be keen to replicate Morocco’s surge to the semi-finals in the previous edition of the World Cup this time around and with numerous Premier League personnel within their ranks, Pape Thiaw’s side look warranted as a potential ‘dark horse’.
Senegal breezed through their qualifying Group B in the African section where they remained unbeaten throughout the 10-game group phase (W7 D3 L0) and although they lost to Morocco in the AFCON final (the final awarded to Morocco after Senegal walked off the pitch!) along with a narrow 3-2 loss to USA, overall signs remain encouraging for the Lions of Teranga.

Indeed, Senegal have won eight of their last 11 internationals in all competitions and the depth and quality of their squad should prove to be too much for Saudi Arabia on Tuesday evening.
