A.S Roma enters this match with a mission – that mission is to win at all cost if they are to have any hopes of winning the Scudetto from Inter Milan, although their chances are slim if Inter Milan wins their match at the San Siro. Atalanta meanwhile have nothing left to play for as they are assured of survival while a place in Europe is out of reach as well.

But Atalanta have to be given credit in their last match as they managed to resist a late fightback from Livorno to win 3-2. Atalanta had been 2-0 up only for Livorno to reduce the deficit and come back into the game. Instead of settling for the draw they pushed hard and won the game 3-2 two minutes from time.

Atalanata’s coach Gigi Del Neri will want to do well against A.S Roma as he coached them before in 2004 and was sacked after a string of disappointing results. Their last meeting saw A.S Roma beat Atalanta 2-1 at the Atleti Azzurri Stadium in January. A.S Roma also won by 2-1 at the Stadio Olimpico last season why they hosted. Interestingly six of the last seven meetings between the two clubs have ended 2-1, with Atalanta winning three of them as well.
