Could this be Liverpool's year and finally bring home the championship that they have wanted since 1990. For me the answer is no as while I do think Liverpool have a good team I don’t think they have as good as a team as either Manchester United or Chelsea but they have started the season well enough and are unbeaten in the first three games of the season.
Now the problem for me at the moment is that whenever I’ve seen Liverpool this season they have not been all that convincing, they huffed and puffed when I saw them at the Stadium of Light and for me while being the better team where lucky to come away with three points. It also took two very late goals to overcome Boro at Anfield and they have also taken a point away at Villa. When you also consider the Champions League where they struggled to get past Standard Liege then it does make you wonder how they are unbeaten so far.
Yet people say that teams that win titles have to win games when not playing all that well and at the moment this could be Liverpool as like I’ve said they are unbeaten without playing very well so could this be their year? I still don’t think so but this game will go a long way to showing the rest of the league if Liverpool should be feared this season as a team that could go all the way.
Manchester United (9th EPL)

With playing in the Super Cup, Manchester United have played one less game than everyone else in the league (ex Fulham of course) and are also unbeaten in the league. You always know what you are going to get with Manchester United and that is a team who you know will be there abouts come the end of the season and I fully expect them to be in the top two again come the end of this season.
So far this season they have played Newcastle at home and drew 1-1 and were far from convincing and they went away to Portsmouth and won 1-0 and at the moment this does seem a team with a lack of goals. Of course when you take Ronaldo out of the team it has to leave a gap, and United will be hoping that new signing Berbatov will make a big difference.
As usual this is a massive game for United and I guess for some united fans the biggest game of the season and again like Liverpool they will be able to use this game, as a guide to see how they feel the rest of the season will go.
Head to Head
You have to go back to November 2001 for the last time Liverpool beat Manchester United at Anfield and that is one cracking proud record United hold over their rivals. Liverpool have not even scored in their last three home games v United so the stats seem to prove one thing and that is quite simply Manchester Untied rule this fixture at the moment.
Verdict
This game so early in the season is going to be hard to predict as both teams are still trying to find their feet, but for me I have this feeling that Liverpool will get something out of this. Manchester United without Ronaldo are a different team and while they will still pose problems for Liverpool, I think that Liverpool may just get something and the draw seem most likely.
So Liverpool double chance of 1.44 seems a decent enough bet, but before you do anything, just remember how good Manchester United have been at Anfield over the last few years.
