Yankees have Red Sox on the ropes

Online betting on baseball is reaching its most exciting point of the season and this week culminates in an ace-on-ace matchup at Fenway Park.
After the Yankees 20-11 victory on Friday night, the BoSox delivered their own thrashing on Saturday - a staggering 14-1 victory, so both sides will be looking to deliver a true knockout blow Sunday night.
New York Yankees (77-46 overall – 36-28 road)
The Yankee hitters have a considerable challenge against Josh Beckett in MLB betting this Sunday but the truth is that they won’t have to score much to win with C.C. Sabathia on the mound wearing pinstripes. As he always seems to do, C.C. is enjoying a second-half surge; he’s 4-0 in August with a 2.35 ERA.
Speaking of second-half performance, Mark Teixeira is up to his old tricks too. In 33 games since the All-Star break, he’s batting .302 with 10 homers and 26 RBI. If he doesn’t power the Yanks’ offense, Robinson Cano could be up to the task; he’s a .341 career hitter against Beckett with two homers and nine RBI in 41 at-bats.
Boston Red Sox (70-52 – 39-19 home)
Usually, it’s foolish to bet against Josh Beckett at home; he’s 8-0 there this season. However, he doesn’t own the Yankees like he owns most of the league; he’s 2-0 against them but the 4.13 ERA and, especially, the 1.42 WHIP don’t meet his lofty standards.
Will Beckett get enough run support? Jason Bay and Dustin Pedroia are a combined 0/15 lifetime against Sabathia. Kevin Youkilis, Victor Martinez and Jacoby Ellsbury join them as Boston regulars who have never taken Sabathia deep.
The Betting Verdict
Sunday gives you a rare opportunity to pick the Yankees as underdogs. Sportsbooks will make Boston a deserving favorite given Beckett’s performance at Fenway Park this season.
But the Red Sox haven’t figured out C.C. Sabathia and he should come up big in his most important start since he joined the Yankees.
The Pick :
New York Yankees
