Hibs face St Johnstone on Saturday with revenge in mind as they were thumped 5-1 against the saints only 2 weeks ago. It was the second of 3 away defeats in the space of a week for John Hughes' side. Its their worst run of the season and they will be desperate to get a win to keep themeselves on track for third place Their battle for second place is also looking more remote as they now it 8 points behind Celtic after them defeats. However with the old firm playing each other on Sunday, they do have a chance to make some ground on them with a win here.
Derek Riordan and Merouanne Zemmama are expected to return to the side after being dropped at Motherwell. Riordan had a great start to the season and was neck and neck with Anthony Stokes in the goal scoring charts but he has been a bit out of sorts lately. No doubt John Hughes will have given some talkings to him and other players after these defeats. Hibs have been very good at home and have only lost to the 2 old firm sides this season.They beat St Johnstone comfortably in the league earlier in sesaon and expect them to be a well fired up side for this one.
St Johnstone got their best result of the season in their last game in the 5-1 thrasing of Hibs. Hibs had Colin Nish sent off but it was at 3-0 and the Perth side played excellent on the night. In their first season back in the top flight St Johnstone are looking good to stay up and may even make the top 6 yet.
Scoring goals has not been a problem as they have the best strike rate outside the top 4 sides but they do have the worst defensive record in the league and in particular away from home they have conceded too many goals. They have lost half their away games and this will be tough as Hibs have been generally very good at home and as mentioned above, out for revenge for two weeks ago.
