Dutch EreDivision News :: Ajax win Dutch title - keeper drops league trophy during parade

Ajax won their 30th Dutch title after beating champions FC Twente 3-1 in Amsterdam in Sunday's title decider.

Twente, who beat Ajax 3-2 in last weekend's Dutch Cup final, went into the game leading by a point.

A Siem de Jong goal and a Denny Landzaat own goal put Ajax 2-0 up before Twente hit back through Theo Janssen to set up a thrilling climax.

But a second De Jong goal made the game safe as Ajax secured their first Dutch title win since 2004.

And shortly afterwards ...

Ajax goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenberg dropped the Eredivisie trophy during the club's parade through the streets of Amsterdam to celebrate winning the Dutch title.
